Back to School Makeup: 3 Looks with 3 Shadows!

Fall is by far my favorite time of year. In Philadelphia the season is especially beautiful with all of the gorgeous foliage and it's finally cool enough to open our house windows and let the breeze just flow... *sigh*.

It also means it's time for another back to school tutorial - well, actually THREE of them!  I've been raving about the NYX eyeshadow trio in "Honeycomb" for the past month or so. One of the reasons I love it so much is the versatility that it gives you with three natural, wearable shadows (not to mention it's easy on the wallet).  Perfect for school makeup, right?  I thought I would show the three main looks that I've been wearing using "Honeycomb" all in one mega, super-sized tutorial. Just goes to show you don't have to shell out tons of money or invest in lots of products to switch up your day-to-day makeup.

I wish everybody heading back to school an amazing and successful year and be sure to check out the video tutorial below!

It's no secret that I've been on a drugstore beauty kick lately.  Over the past few months I've kept you updated on the many drugstore finds that I've been loving and while attempting to film a video all about the subject I realized there may be TOO many favorites!

Instead of throwing a 45 minute video at you, I decided to break it down into a few parts.  So, what better to start with than skincare!  Coincidentally I'm a little overdue for a skincare video as it is ;)  In this post I'll be showing you some of my tried and true products that have made it into my routine and helped keep my normal/combination skin in check.

I took the $20 Makeup Challenge!

After returning from travelling around the Northwest this past week I was super excited to film and upload a new video on my YouTube channel!  And what better to film than the most highly requested video from my viewers - The $20 Makeup Challenge!  So, the idea is to come up with a complete look (face, eyes, cheeks and lips), but all of the cosmetics and tools that you use must total under $20.

I knew this was going to be tricky but I didn't realize how difficult it would actually be until I got to Wal-Mart. Dun dun dun...

I must have looked like an escapee from an insane asylum, walking up and don't the aisles and tallying up all of the prices.  One little gem made this challenge a lot easier. The Wet n Wild Bare Necessities kit includes an eyeliner, 3 eyeshadows and a mascara for under $5.00 - score!

Some of the products I picked up were hits and some were misses, but you'll have to watch the video to find out and see if I stayed within my budget!

*Oh and special thanks to my mom for being my human calculator at Wal-Mart! ;)

Long Lasting, Shine-Free Foundation Routine

Okay, so we are officially in the dog days of summer! I don't know about you, but stepping out in the heat and humidity in a liquid foundation can leave my skin looking like an oil slick!  Typically I'll resolve this issue by switching up to a powder foundation routine in the summertime.  However, sometimes I want my skin to look super flawless for an event or a night out - something that a cream or liquid foundation does best.  So how do I keep my skin looking naturally matte and shine-free?  In the video below I'll show you the combination of products that has been keeping my skin looking fresh-faced all summer long!
